About me (Ann Kestenbaum MSc MSTAT)

I was first attracted to the Alexander Technique more than 20 years ago through my interest in music and dance, but it was only when I started suffering recurrent pain in my shoulders that I began to have lessons. What I learned from those lessons eventually inspired me to undertake the three year full-time training course which qualified me as a member of the Society of Teachers of the Alexander Technique (STAT).

My pupils have included a wide range of people of different ages (currently 14 to 91) and from a variety of walks of life (office workers, teachers, musicians, doctors and many others). My earlier experience had included a scientific training (initially a physics degree) and, later, years of social policy research: also child-rearing, violin playing, various sports and dance.

Most of  my teaching is through one-to-one lessons, but I also give talks and occasional workshops and classes. These are tailored to suit any company or interested group of people. For further information, contact me directly.
