self-development

'Alexander Technique helped me in many rather unexpected ways. It definitely helped my general posture and movement and identified a tendency to round my shoulders. When corrected this seemed to improve my breathing. However, the most significant effect was psychological in that it encouraged me to stop momentarily before doing anything. As a person who has an overwhelming desire to leap into things, this was somewhat a new concept for me!
It seemed to have a real influence on the way in which I approached life in general and enabled me to think that I could do things differently. Whether it was due to the Alexander Technique is difficult to know, but after starting I had a radical change to the direction of my career (as a doctor) and I have successfully done interviews and presentations that would previously have terrified me.'   (Patricia)
